Emerald & Round Two Stone Lab Grown Diamond Earrings

A step cut beside a brilliant is the sharpest contrast available in a two stone earring. Neither stone is an accent here; the pair is the design.

Buying Guide

A pair of stones is easier to set well on the ear than on the hand. Away from the impact a band takes, a setting can carry two stones without giving up prong security on either. The emerald cut returns light as broad flashes while the round scatters it into pinpoints, so the pair changes character as the head turns. Clarity matters more on the emerald side, which is where our VVS–VS floor does its work.

A step cut and a brilliant of equal weight look nothing alike on the ear, so we balance the pair on spread rather than on the paperwork. Nothing here ships from stock, so the balance between the two stones is chosen rather than accepted. If you are unsure which shape should carry more weight, that is worth a conversation first. Both diamonds carry an IGI report in the box, and every pair ships free within the U.S. with 30-day returns.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is E color diamond good?

Yes. E is the middle of the three colorless grades and sits a step above F, which is where our range stops, so an E is comfortably inside what we set. Nothing about it reads as a compromise on the hand. What actually decides how white a stone looks is cut quality and the metal around it, and we hold Excellent cut across the range.

Are lab grown diamonds real diamonds?

Yes. A lab-grown diamond has the identical carbon crystal structure, the identical hardness of 10 on the Mohs scale and the identical optical properties as a mined diamond. The U.S. Federal Trade Commission removed the word "natural" from its definition of a diamond in 2018 for exactly this reason. The difference is origin, not material.

Can I see the piece before it is made?

Yes, within the limits of made-to-order work. Book a free 30-minute video or phone consultation and we will share stone footage and drawings on screen before production starts. We would rather answer the awkward questions at that stage than after the piece is finished. The real safety net behind buying online is the window afterwards: 30 days from the date your order ships, with a free prepaid insured UPS return label on U.S. orders.

What arrives in the box?

The piece, and its IGI grading report. The report number is laser-inscribed on the girdle of the stone, so the paperwork can always be matched back to the diamond itself. Everything is made to order in our New York Diamond District workshop and ships insured with a signature required.

Should the two stones be the same carat weight?

Close, but not necessarily equal. Shapes spread weight differently, so an equal-weight pair can still look unbalanced — a marquise reads longer than a round of identical weight. We match on visual balance rather than on the certificate, and we are happy to talk it through before you order.
