Buying Guide

Seven stones cover more of the top of the finger than five, which is the whole difference. Without a raised centre stone the band stacks flush against an existing ring, and that is why a seven stone is almost always bought as a second ring rather than a first.

The run of stones is what you are buying, so evenness of color and cut across the line matters more here than any single grade — which is what our D–F color and VVS–VS clarity floor is protecting. This is a deliberately small part of the range. Everything is made to order in our New York workshop, ships free within the U.S. fully insured, and carries 30-day returns and one free resize within 30 days on U.S. orders.

Is a seven stone ring an engagement ring or an anniversary ring?

Most often an anniversary ring, though it works as either. Without a raised centre stone it stacks flush against an existing ring, which is why it is usually bought as the second ring rather than the first. We are happy to advise on stacking before you order.

What is an anniversary ring?

An anniversary ring is a diamond band worn alongside an engagement ring, or in place of it, usually to mark a milestone. Ours run from five-stone bands to full bands across 135 designs. It is also the most common upgrade path for someone who wants more diamond without replacing the original ring.

Can the metal be resized later?

Most designs can. We include one free resize within 30 days of shipping on U.S. orders. Eternity-style rings are the exception: stones run the full circumference, so there is no plain section to cut and rejoin, and the ring has to be remade rather than resized. Order those to size.
