Emerald & Pear Two Stone Lab Grown Diamond Earrings

A step cut beside a pointed brilliant gives this pairing more direction than any other we build. There is no centre stone to speak of — the two shapes carry it together.

Buying Guide

Nothing about wearing two stones together is a compromise on an earring. A ring worn daily punishes a busy setting; an earring does not, which is why this format lives here. The emerald cut anchors the piece with broad architectural flashes while the pear tapers away from it, so the orientation of the point matters more here than in a symmetrical pairing.

Both stones read long, so what we balance is width rather than weight: a wide emerald cut beside a narrow pear looks mismatched however the carats fall. We build to order, so the two stones are matched for the person wearing them. Tell us which of the two shapes you want to lead and we will build to that. Each pair is IGI-graded to a D–F colour and VVS–VS clarity floor, made to order, and covered by free worldwide shipping and 30-day returns.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can a jeweller tell a lab grown diamond from a mined one?

Not by eye and not with a loupe. The two are the same material, so a conventional tester reads both as diamond. Distinguishing them takes specialist equipment that reads the growth pattern left by the formation process — which is precisely what the IGI report documents, and why the report matters.

Is VS1 or VS2 better?

VS1 is the higher of the two. Both sit in the Very Slightly Included band, and the distinction is how hard a grader has to work at 10x magnification to find the inclusions — harder in a VS1. In wear the difference is usually invisible, which is why we treat VVS–VS as a floor rather than a target. Where it does show is in step cuts, whose open facets hide nothing.

Are natural diamonds resource intensive?

Mined diamond production moves very large volumes of earth for each carat recovered, which is the origin of the question. We would rather point you at the documented comparisons than make a claim of our own. What we can say for our own work is that every Beyond Carat stone is 100% lab-grown and conflict-free, and every one carries an IGI report.

Is F color grade good for lab grown?

Yes. F is the lowest of the three colourless grades — D, E and F — and is visually indistinguishable from D once a stone is set. Beyond Carat holds a D–F color floor across the entire range, so an F is our entry point rather than a compromise, and every grade is confirmed on the IGI report in the box.

Should the two stones be the same carat weight?

Close, but not necessarily equal. Shapes spread weight differently, so an equal-weight pair can still look unbalanced — a marquise reads longer than a round of identical weight. We match on visual balance rather than on the certificate, and we are happy to talk it through before you order.
