How do I get the most visible piece for a fixed budget?
Choose shape before you choose carat. Round costs the most per carat, so moving to an oval, marquise or emerald cut buys visible extra size at the same spend. After that, a halo adds roughly half a carat of apparent size for a fraction of the cost of a larger centre stone.
Is the quality lower on less expensive pieces?
No. D–F colour, VVS–VS clarity and Excellent cut is the floor across the entire range, not a premium tier. What changes with price is carat weight, metal and setting complexity. A $299 pair of studs and a $4,000 ring carry the same grading standard and the same IGI report in the box.
How much does a lab grown diamond engagement ring cost?
