This is a setting problem before it is a styling one, and the ear makes it easy. The impact a band absorbs is what limits two-stone rings, and an earring absorbs almost none of it. The pear softens the princess and the princess grounds the pear, which is the whole idea. Both stones carry protected settings as standard.
A taper and a square are matched on the width they occupy, because carat weight alone would leave the princess looking undersized. Because production follows the order, the balance is still open when you ask about it. Send us a note about how you want the pair to sit and we will advise. Do you make two stone rings as well?
Not as engagement rings. The two-shape designs we build in ring form are cluster and eternity styles rather than a pair of principal stones. If you want two stones on one band, contact us and we will tell you honestly what we can and cannot make to order.
Are two stone earrings sold as a pair?
Yes. The price shown is for the pair, and both earrings carry the same two shapes unless you ask us otherwise. Asymmetric pairs, where each ear takes a different arrangement, are possible because everything is made to order — call us on (888) 625-7772 before ordering.
Do two stone earrings work for everyday wear?
Yes. An earring takes almost none of the impact a ring absorbs, which is why more elaborate settings are practical here in a way they are not on a band. Our two stone designs start at $269 and are made to order in gold, platinum and silver.
Should the two stones be the same carat weight?
Close, but not necessarily equal. Shapes spread weight differently, so an equal-weight pair can still look unbalanced — a marquise reads longer than a round of identical weight. We match on visual balance rather than on the certificate, and we are happy to talk it through before you order.
