Round Cut Lab Grown Diamond Rings in Yellow Gold

The premium on a round is a cutting-yield premium, not a quality premium, and it is worth knowing the difference.

Buying Guide

Two things decide whether round cut designs is the right choice. The brilliance of a round survives a lower polish grade better than a step cut does, which widens the useful buying range. Yellow gold reflects a little warmth into the stone from below, and our D–F floor absorbs that without becoming a problem.

Setting height decides how a ring lives with gloves, keyboards and pockets more than any other choice. Consultations are held by video or phone so drawings and stone footage can be shared on screen. Each piece carries an IGI report in the box — D–F colour, VVS–VS clarity, Excellent cut — and ships free within the U.S. with 30-day returns. Round Cut Lab Grown Diamond Engagement Rings sits above this page and holds the rest of the range.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is a round diamond the safest choice for an engagement ring?

It is the most forgiving. A round brilliant pairs flush with a straight wedding band, has no points to protect, and its facet pattern hides small inclusions better than any other shape. We stock 837 round pieces across the range, more than any other shape. If the recipient’s taste is unknown, round is the least likely to be wrong.

Are pear and marquise shapes fragile?

The points are the vulnerable part, not the stone itself. A diamond is a 10 on the Mohs scale everywhere, but a sharp point concentrates impact. We set every pear and marquise with a V-prong over the point as standard, which is the accepted solution. Worn normally, a protected point is no more at risk than a round.

Does yellow gold make a diamond look warmer?

It can, slightly, because the metal reflects into the stone from below. With a lower color grade that shows; with our D–F floor it does not become a problem. If you want the coldest possible white in the stone, choose platinum or white gold; if you want the ring to read warm as a whole, yellow gold is the point.

Can I mix metals between the ring and the wedding band?

Yes, and it has become common. The practical consideration is wear rather than looks: two rings in constant contact will abrade each other, and the softer metal gives way first. If you are pairing gold with platinum, expect the gold band to show contact marks sooner. We are happy to advise before you order.

Is 10k gold real gold?

Yes. 10k is 41.7% gold and is the minimum that may legally be sold and stamped as gold in the United States. It is the hardest of the three purities we offer, which makes it a sensible choice for a piece that takes heavy daily contact, at the cost of a paler color.
