Buying Guide
Five stone bands sit between a three stone ring and an eternity band, and they are bought as anniversary rings, wedding bands and stacking pieces in roughly equal measure. The practical advantage over an eternity ring is straightforward: stones occupy only the top of the band, so there is plain metal at the base and the ring can usually be resized.
Graduated stones read as deliberate and draw the eye to the centre; equal stones read as architectural and stack more evenly against another ring. Both are common here and neither is more correct. What matters more is consistency of color across the five, which is why our D–F floor applies to every stone in the line rather than to a centre alone. One free resize within 30 days of shipping applies on U.S. orders, alongside free worldwide shipping and 30-day returns.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is a five stone ring?
A band set with five diamonds of similar or graduated size, worn as an anniversary ring, a wedding band or a stacking piece. It gives a continuous line of stones across the top of the finger without the cost or the resizing constraint of a full eternity band. We carry 15 five stone designs.
Can a five stone ring be resized?
Usually yes, because the stones occupy only the top of the band and there is plain metal at the base to work with. That is the practical advantage over an eternity ring, which cannot be resized at all. We include one free resize within 30 days of shipping on U.S. orders.
Do halo settings make the diamond look bigger?
Yes. A halo of small stones set around the centre typically adds about half a carat of visual size, because the eye reads the outer edge of the halo as the edge of the stone. It is the most efficient way to gain apparent size, since small accent stones cost far less per carat than one large centre.
What is an anniversary ring?
An anniversary ring is a diamond band worn alongside an engagement ring, or in place of it, usually to mark a milestone. Ours run from five-stone bands to full bands across 135 designs. It is also the most common upgrade path for someone who wants more diamond without replacing the original ring.
What is a VS1 diamond?
A VS1 diamond is one grade inside the Very Slightly Included band: inclusions are present, difficult for a trained grader to locate at 10x magnification, and not visible to the unaided eye. On the IGI scale it sits below VVS2 and above VS2. Our range holds a VVS–VS floor, so a VS1 sits in the middle of what we set rather than at the edge of it.
